Documentation
Instruction-ready detail below
A week ends with tasks nobody closed, and the next one starts by rebuilding the list from memory. Meetings that were cancelled stay on the calendar, deadlines agreed verbally never reach a task, and by Wednesday the plan is fiction nobody trusts. The review is a fixed appointment, ideally Friday afternoon or Monday morning, and it takes twenty minutes. First, close out the week: every task touched this week is marked done, moved to a later date, delegated, or deleted, because a task that survives three reviews without moving is either not work or not yours. Second, look at what is coming, with fixed commitments coming from the calendar, real deadlines coming from the people waiting on you, and everything else treated as a choice. Third, book it: work that matters gets time in the calendar before other people claim it, in blocks long enough to start. Fourth, write the two or three things that would make the week a success if nothing else happened. A person still decides what actually matters, which commitments to cancel, and how much capacity is realistic. The output is not a perfect plan, it is a week whose first hour is already decided.
